The Perfect Day to Start Blogging

A nice little Saturday!

Spring has finally sprung in Alexandria (I am writing this while watching the snow melt away from overnight.  That Punxsutawney Phil was a big liar)!

RP (my hubby) and I headed to our favorite farmer’s market in Falls Church yesterday.  Now that the weather is warming up, the produce is making its way back to the tables.  Isn’t it beautiful?

We left with two bags full of goodies for meals this week.

Our evening started early as we celebrated our friend Rob’s 35th Birthday at Radius Pizza.  Since Rob is now old (35 IS halfway to 70), we had to get him dinner at 5pm!  Rob’s girlfriend Jaimee and fellow fancy lady, Maggie and Dr. Shifty joined us for a slice and a pint.

After delicious pizza (try the gorgonzola and spinach, it received rave reviews around the table), we headed to our tap table reservations at Meridian Pint.  After a few false starts, the beer was flowing.

Four out of Five Fancy Ladies.  We missed you Calyn!

Meridian Pint was really rocking when Butler pulled the upset win over Florida.  I love March Madness!

RP and I had to beg out early to see one of our favorite bands, Cold War Kids, at the 9:30 Club.  We aren’t strangers to the 9:30 Club, but we’ve never stood on the upper level.  This was a great move for me; I could actually see the band the whole time!  RP and I weren’t big fans of the opener.  In a moment of judgment and impatience, I might have called him an Owl City wannabe.

Once the Cold War Kids took the stage, RP and I forgot about the slow start and really enjoyed the show.  The Cold War Kids have a ton of energy (especially the bass player, he was all over the stage) and I think that they played all of our favorite songs.  Great concert!

It’s now time to squeeze a workout in and see what Sunday has in store for me.  I think I have to make a trip to Home Depot to check out paver stones.  Pray for me.
