Hounds at the Park

Before I get to the excitement of bring Manny to Nationals Park, let me brag for a second.

I got to see Adele on Thursday night!  I’ve been a fan from the second I heard her first album.  As a dance teacher, she is a contemporary choreographer’s dream.  Her music is beautiful.  RP surprised me with tickets for Valentine’s Day and I have been counting down the days until May 12.  And the day finally arrived!

A real ticket!  Not counterfeit!  Because Adele sold out so quickly, counterfeit tickets were apparently a huge problem at this concert.  We saw so many people turned away with fake tickets.  I felt so bad for them.  That’s the risk of buying tickets on Craigslist.  Yikes.

She was the JAM!  Her humor was cheeky and irreverent.  Her voice is spectacular.  I have a gigantic girl crush on her.  It’s ok to be jealous.  She was that good!

On to the serious subject of hounds at the park…

My chubby hound dog was thrilled to be photographed.  Marty and Calyn joined RP and me with their basset, Gracie Belle.  Calyn and I are self identified creepy dog people and we were THRILLED to take the pups to the park!

The two hounds hung out together while we waited to take part in the Pups on Parade around the field.

After the parade, we headed upstairs and checked out the puppy section.

They rolled out sod for the pups to do their business.  Brilliant.

We settled into our seats and hung out with the hounds while watching the Nats lose to the Marlins.

Those hot dogs were ridiculous.  One was the “Big Kid” dog smothered in mac ‘n’ cheese and the other was the “Nacho” dog which had salsa, jalapenos, cheese and sour cream.  Ridiculous and delicious!

What a fun day!  Manny will need the rest of the weekend to recover from the excitement.  He didn’t lay down until the top of the eighth inning, so he’s got to be tired!

RP and I caught up on some of the week’s TV when we got home, but we’ll be heading out with the crew for some delicious Mexican food and catching up this evening.  We’re looking forward to it!

Have a great weekend!
