Orange Power in Stillwater

I went to a small liberal arts college populated with a lot of hippies and a football team that was nothing to write home about (the school has since done away with the football team completely).  To say that I was unfamiliar with big football school tailgating would be an understatement.  Dr. Shifty went to Oklahoma State for his Master’s Degree and Ph.D. so he is a big time Cowboys fan and now that we live only 5 hours away from Stillwater it seemed only right that we take a weekend trip out to see OSU play K-State.

I was lucky enough to win an awesome OSU koozie right at the beginning of tailgating.  The excitement is palpable.

We were jumping back and forth between several different tailgates for most of the afternoon.

Dr. Shifty discovered chocolate covered double-stuffed Oreos.  He was impressed but a little overwhelmed by the amount sweet goodness.

As it started getting dark we headed over to the fancy tailgating – good lord do these people know how to tailgate.

We had a blast at the game – we ended up sitting in the student section with a bunch of Dr. Shifty’s friends.  Things didn’t look good for a large part of the game, but Oklahoma State eeked out a win.

And apparently there was an earthquake at the end of the game.  We completely missed it – must have been all the fan pandemonium.  After the game we headed out to the Stillwater Strip [photos redacted].  We ended the night at Shortcakes for some greasy diner food.  Yummmm.

Thank goodness for that extra hour of sleep on Sunday!  After grabbing some pizza from Hideaway, we headed back to Little Rock with still exhausted eyes and raspy voices.  Signs of an awesome weekend.
