As I was thinking about ideas for the Wee Baby P’s nursery, I knew that I wanted to try making a pegboard to hold baby supplies. I was inspired by this post that I found on Pinterest.
RP and I headed to Home Depot to pick up the necessary supplies. We picked up pegboard and two pieces of 1” x 2” MDF. Lucky for us, the length of the pegboard was almost exactly the same length of the two pieces of MDF.
I painted the board and the pieces of the MDF.
RP stapled the MDF strips to the length of the pegboard to create a frame for the board. He also attached hooks to the back of the top piece of the frame so that we could hang the board on the wall above the dresser/changing table.
I hung the four baskets with hooks found in Home Depot’s pegboard accessories pack. I found the two small silver baskets at Crate and Barrel and the two red baskets at the Crate and Barrel outlet.
In the two red baskets, I’ve got diapers and burp cloths. I’ve got baby hats in the small silver basket on the right. I’m hoping I quickly realize what I need to have within arm’s reach – it probably won’t be baby hats, but they’re really adorable.
The Washington Nationals print is from the Zeke’s Antique Signs Etsy shop and I just put it in a simple white Michael’s frame. The P is also from Michael’s. I found the Lion print at Wake Up Little Suzie in D.C. It has the great quote by E.E. Cummings “it takes courage to grow up and be who you really are.” It was an impulse buy and I love it!
The nursery is slowly, but surely coming together. Here are a couple of sneak peeks!
Obviously the pillows won’t stay in crib, but it’s fun to see all of the patterns together. One of these days I’ll have it all together and I’ll be able to give you a full tour.
Stuff is getting real. Six weeks until we meet WBP.

Love it!
Thanks, Kathryn! I needed to do at least one craft where I didn’t get the idea from your blog!
Is the H a hint at the little guys first initial?
ohhhh JUST KIDDING realize that was just the picture you used!!!!
Ha ha. Unfortunately I had to use a ‘P’ because we still don’t have a name for the kiddo.
Never thought of putting one in the nursery, good idea !
I wish it was originally my idea, but it seems like a great way to get some added small storage and keep things close for diaper changes.
The pegboard is such a great idea, Chaaron, and I love how the whole nursery is coming together – very cute yet masculine!!
Thank you so much Whitney! I loved the little nursery sneak peek you gave when you showed your new wall vinyl! I can’t wait to see the whole thing and see Peanut enjoying the room. Not much longer now, right?
Love it all! I soooo want to be all crafty – and one day I swear I will. I love the red crib! Can’t believe there’s only 6 weeks left!!
Oh, I don’t know that I’m crafty at all. I’m just good at copying others’ creativity. I can’t believe there are just six weeks left either! YIPES!
