It’s hard to believe that little Dash is one week old ready! Every day brings new expressions and more awake time. He is a great eater and sleeper. He loves to be swaddled and held. He does not like having a wet diaper, being naked or getting a sponge bath.
We have made it out of the house quite a bit this week. This is definitely because I had RP home with me all week. If I were by myself, I can’t say I’d be as ambitious. On our way home from the hospital, we picked up Panera for lunch. On Wednesday, we went to his first pediatrician appointment, the bank, the grocery store, RP’s office and Target. On Friday, Dash went to his first Nationals game. It was a very disappointing loss (we lost after starting with a 9-0 lead), but he was fantastic all evening. The only bad thing is that the only place to privately nurse is the family restroom. They aren’t air conditioned and there isn’t anywhere to sit (aside from the toilet). I carried him in my k’tan, and I’m hoping I can learn how to leave him in there to nurse so we won’t have to camp out in the restroom for future games.
Dash even had two lunch playdates! On Wednesday, he got to meet James and on Thursday, he met Flora. I see many more of these little dates in the future. They might be more for mommy than for Dash! I am kicking myself for not taking pictures. Next time!
Dash is going to quickly size out of his newborn diapers and his 0-3 month clothes. So much of me wishes he would remain this small and squishy forever, but I’m so excited to watch him grow up. However, I will be treasuring these tiny baby snuggles while they last!
We’ve been so spoiled by friends this week! Thank you to everyone for visiting us and for making sure that we are fed! We are so thankful for your support and friendship. Dash is so lucky to have all of you in his life!
Oooohhhh, Grandmama P cannot wait for a few baby snuggles herself!! He is perfect!!
